Bent's Old Fort National Historic Site features a reconstructed 1840s adobe fur trading post on the mountain branch of the Santa Fe Trail where traders, trappers, travelers, and the Cheyenne and Arapaho tribes came together in peaceful terms for trade.
The images I shot there were as is - where is. I did not rearrange the items in any way and all light was as found. I was looking to capture my feelings and impressions of the site as it lived and breathed.
Images from this collection were featured in my first solo museum show in 2012 as the featured artist at the Koshare Indian Museum in La Junta, Colorado.
I used mostly muted and warm tones throughout.
The show travelled to several galleries including The Kadoya Gallery in Pueblo, Somewhere on San Juan, The First Street Emporium, and Uniquely Yours, Colorado.
